Trend Round-Up: Florals

Fun With Florals
Even though it’s technically spring, it definitely does not feel like it since New York is still so chilly. However, I’m determined to brighten up the office and my wardrobe with some fun new florals!

I’ve rounded up some of my favorite floral pieces to help you put a little spring in your step too (I’m cheesy, I know).

  3. BKE Floral Peplum Tank Top - $16
  4. Libby Kelly Wedge Sandal - $35
  5. Swirl Arm Flower Floral Sunglasses - $15

It was freezing this morning! Joe and I ran out before I went to work to take a few photos, and it had to be less than 30 degrees outside. My nose started to turn pink after about two minutes and we had no choice but to scurry back inside.

On another note, one of the things I’m quickly learning is how easy it is to get stuck in a routine. The alarm goes off at the same time every morning. You put on the same clothes every day for work. You take the same train every morning. It’s easy for your day to feel monotonous when there is a lot of routine.

However, it’s up to you to make it more interesting and fun for yourself. After all, you’re only bored if you’re boring (according to Cole Haan via subway ads). I love jazzing up business attire with fun accessories – be it an amazing Sara Designs wrap watch (which I get a MILLION compliments on every time I wear it) or glittery nail polish that makes typing on a keyboard 10 times more fun.

It’s the little things that not only keep me sane, but also make my day.

Spikes and Studs.

Even though I’m pretty girly, I absolutely love this trend of spikes and studs. I think they add such a fun element to your every day wardrobe and they give each outfit some edge. If you’re not sure how you feel about this trend, throw on a simple studded belt or a few skinny studded leather bracelets. Or if you’re ready to rock out, throw on heeled boots with spikes, or a great statement piece like a studded leather jacket. You can’t go wrong!

Splurge: Trench Coats.

I have been on the hunt for the perfect trench coat for months now. Why?

  • Because they are the perfect layering piece for weather that is constantly changing. Yay functionality!
  • You can wear it over a classy cocktail dress or with jeans and a t-shirt. So versatile!
  • The classic silhouettes are stylish and they never go out of fashion.

They come in a variety of prices. Although I think everyone should splurge on a trench, you can always find one to fit within your budget with a bit of luck.

I love Breakfast at Tiffany’s! I think this is where my obsession with trenches began.

This Candy Dots Trench from Revolve Clothing puts a great spin on a classic trench. The black sleeves are so eye-catching!

This Club Monaco Micah Trench Coat ($329) is currently sold out, but I definitely want one regardless! The faux leather piping adds a little extra flair and pop to this classic.

This Moto Trench from J-Crew gives this trench a tough-girl twist. This is also sold out. So sad.

I love this ultra chic and modern trench with faux-leather sleeves. Only $88 from Chic Wish.

Do you have a trench? What’s your favorite way to style it? Leave me a comment and tell me all about it (:
