Lemon bars, chocolate, and Doritos are delicious. They’re heavenly, finger-licking good junk foods that are addicting, mouthwatering and horrible for you. Most of us tend to reach for these snacks when we’re stressed or rushed, forgetting that these treats will ultimately make us feel worse because of the sugar/empty carb high and crash. Here are some of my favorite healthy snacks that can easily be thrown into your bag on a busy morning. Stock up on your favorites and start fall strong. Your body will thank you!
- Veggie sticks – Portion these light and crunchy potato snacks into little baggies or tupperware at the beginning of the week. It’s only 140 calories for about 50 veggie sticks, so go ahead and dig in for a guilt-free snack. These are much healthier than traditional potato chips. My favorites are from Trader Joe’s.
- Modern Oats oatmeal – Sometimes the struggle is just too real to have breakfast in the mornings. These pre-packaged cups of oatmeal are loaded with good things. I love throwing Modern Oats’ 5 Berry into my bag before I head out to work. As soon as I get to work, I’ll pour hot water into my 5 Berry and enjoy oatmeal loaded with blueberries, strawberries, cranberries, and more.
- Wasabi roasted seaweed snacks – The dusting of wasabi on these light, airy and crunchy snacks takes Trader Joe’s traditional seaweed snacks to the next level. The best part? They’re only $.99!
- CLIF bars – These bars are baked with organic rolled oats and are a good source of energy, protein and fiber. They also happen to be absolutely delicious. The chocolate brownie and crunchy peanut butter flavors are everything. Toss one into your bag for a mid-day snack or before heading to the gym.
