It’s So Fluffy.

Let me start off by saying that “Despicable Me” is one of my favorite movies.

When Agnes yells, “It’s so fluffy!” my heart just melts! I just love using the word “fluffy” as it is, so when I was asked to model for FluffyCo, the name itself was enough to make me say yes. Well, I didn’t actually say yes until after I checked out their website (www.fluffyco.com), but I was pretty excited nonetheless. The clothes have this amazingly laid-back and comfy vibe. They’re things you’d want to throw on for a lazy day, but also things you know you’d look good in. You really can’t go wrong.

I had a great time modeling for this company. Everyone is laid back, but hard-working, and the clothes are ridiculously comfortable. I really didn’t want to take anything off. Considering how picky I am about clothes, that’s a big deal coming from me.  Fluffyco definitely has a new fan to say the least. I’ll be sure to post pictures from the catalog as soon as the designer sends them to me.

To end this, here are 3 things I learned from “Despicable Me”:

  • If you don’t have someone to support your dreams or to offer you words of encouragement, then you may turn out to be a cold, evil genius like Gru. When he was little, he wanted to be an astronaut, but when he showed his family the rockets he built, no one cared. Everyone needs someone to love them.
  • There will always be someone who can do something better than you. They may be younger, have cooler clothes, have more money, etc. But, that does not make them better than you. Vector, Gru’s arch nemesis, seemed to have it all, but that was not necessarily true.
  • Sometimes what you want (or think you want) is different than what you need. Gru thought he’d be happy if he had the moon, but what he needed was three little girls who sold cookies and loved him.

& 3 things I’ve learned from modeling over the past three or four years:

  • You don’t have to be rail-thin or starve yourself. There is a market for every kind of person. I’m happy with the way I am. I don’t need to conform to society’s idea of perfection. I am beautiful and enough, just the way I am.
  • There are lots of beautiful people in the world. Both inside and out. But if you’re not beautiful on the inside, it doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside.
  • Everyone should have one or two outfits that makes them feel pretty. Stop waiting to lose enough weight to put on that sequined dress of yours, and just buy a dress in a bigger size. No one will know. What they will know is that they see someone confident and comfortable. I’ve seen too many people try to squeeze in to a dress that was too small. Maybe they made it work, but guess what? They were uncomfortable and pulling and tugging on their clothes all night. Treat yourself to something that makes you feel wonderful – your confidence and body will thank you.
